New firewall pad
One of the things that I wanted to do for a long time was to replace the firewall pad. I can't find a before picture, but the foam backing on the original pad eventually breaks down, and it disintegrates into bits and pieces. I decided to order one in from AuthenticClassics.com and tackled it last summer.
After power-washing off the bulk of what was remaining, I spent the better part of 2 hours using various solvents to clean off the residue left by the original backing adhesive. A final wipe with mineral spirits, and then I was ready for my new one.
It really cleans up the look of the engine bay, and I think it does actually keep me cooler when driving on those hot summer days. Or it could just be in my head.
